Bob Cook was appointed the first Chief Information Officer for the University of Toronto in May 2008. An instructional designer by training, Bob joined the University in 1990 as Head of the Technology for Enhanced Learning Centre at the former Faculty of Education. From 1996 to 2004 he was Co-director (Technology) for the Education Commons at OISE and was one of the architects of its creation. He became OISE’s Chief Information Officer in 2004. While at the University, he has been primarily associated with initiatives that harness information and communications technology to the academic agenda.
