Rick Pittman is currently the Vice President, Information Services for Mackenzie Investments which he joined in early 2008. He leads a team of approximately 250 people that provide technology services for one of Canada's largest and most successful mutual fund companies. He has over 20 years experience in Technology with the last 16 years being in the Mutual Fund Industry.
Rick's career in the Financial Industry began in 1992 at Franklin Templeton Investments where he spent 11 years in various capacities ultimately heading Technology in Canada. In addition to Canadian responsibilities, he also led Regional Support Services, a global team with presence in Europe, Asia and North America. One of his most challenging assignments at Franklin occurred in 2001 when he was a key member of the technology management team responsible for recovering one of the Corporate Data Centres which had been located in the World Trade Center in New York. Following Franklin Templeton, he spent five years leading large Application Development Teams for two companies that provide IT and Business Process Outsourcing services to the Mutual Fund Industry. When the opportunity to lead IT for Mackenzie was presented, Rick jumped at it as Mackenzie is one of the most respected financial firms in Canada and is widely known for innovation and focus on philanthropy and community service.
Outside of work, most of Rick’s time is spent enjoying his family life with his wife and three young sons.
